Steve Stricker says he will only play 10 tournaments in 2013


There is a very divided line between PGA Tour golfers 传奇私服 that are fighting each year to retain their tour card and those that are so successful they can pick and choose which events to play in. It's one of the benefits of being a top player, and each year guys like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can pick whatever events they want to play on the schedule and leave off even more.

Golf roundup | Park leads LPGA’s Taiwan Championship


The group of four tied for third on 68 included Nicole Castrale and Danielle Kang of the United States, Park Hee-young of South Korea and Pornanong Phatlum of Thailand.

Park finished in the top three for six straight tour events, including two wins, until her streak was broken in South Korea last week with a tie for 15th. She leads the tour money list.

She credited improved hitting skills and calm on the normally windy Sunrise course for her performance.

The professionals won the Cup for a second consecutive year, sneaking out of Chechessee Creek with a 10-8 victory to establish a foothold after the amateurs had won three consecutive years.

Ed Brill earned two points to help lead the professionals. Rob Simmons and Jordan Carpenter each picked up two points for the amateurs.

Golf-Harrington wins Grand Slam event by one shot

Triple major winner Padraig Harrington held off a last-day charge by U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson to win the end-of-season PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda by one shot on ugg boots sale clearance Wednesday.

Bluegolds fifth at golf tourney


The No. 6 UW-Eau Claire women's golf team finished in fifth place out of 10 teams at the two-day O'Brien National Invitational at Warren Golf Course.

The tournament featured 10 teams ranked 15th or higher in the preseason Golf World/WGCA Top 25 Poll.

The Blugolds' Catherine Wagner tied for third place with a 154 (+10).

Australian Alison Whitaker salvaged a share of fourth at the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open as Caroline Hedwall completed a dream return from injury to defend her title on Sunday.

Swede Hedwall finished on 13 under, four shots clear of the chasing pack after carding a two-under 70 in the third and final round at Golfclub Fohrenwald in Austria.

A long, winding road to Jamie Farr Classic


It has been a long five weeks off. But it seemed to go by fairly fast. I kept busy, travelling (and golfing) in Florida, Edmonton, Phoenix and Iowa before arriving in Ohio for this week's Jamie Farr Toledo Classic at Highland Meadows. I was both happy and a little frustrated heading into the five-week break: "Happy" because I made the cut in the NW Arkansas Championship and did it by shooting a sizzling 30 on my back nine on the Saturday, which was cut day; "Frustrated" because a week later I was sitting on my couch watching the U.S. Women's Open instead of playing in it.
